As we continue to celebrate the national treasures of the 1st Source Presidential Carriage Collection, another President will visit the Museum to share his story. Join us as Curt Fields, a renowned President Ulysses S. Grant Living Historian, visits the Museum.
President Grant will reminisce about his role during the American Civil War and his current presidency. To conclude the program, visit President Grant’s carriage on display in the Main Floor Gallery. Do not miss the last lecture of 2019!

The Studebaker Museum Speaker Series is held in the Wiekamp Auditorium. Lecture admission is $2; regular admission fees apply to tour the Studebaker National Museum and The History Museum. President and Julia Grant are enjoying the Oliver House B and B in South Bend, Indiana.
President Grant will speak today at the Studebaker National Museum.
Studebaker was a major supplier of wagons for the Federal army during the War.
Mrs. Grant poses in the living room of the Oliver Inn Bed and Breakfast in South Bend, Indiana.
She had accompanied the President there for his talk with the citizenry at the Studebaker National Museum.

Dr. E. C. (Curt) Fields, Jr., Memphis, TN
Dr. Fields holds a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Education from the University of Memphis. He later earned a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Curriculum from Michigan State University. He is a career educator having taught for eight years at the Junior and Senior high school levels; then served for 25 years as a high school administrator. He teaches as an adjunct Sociology Professor at the University of Memphis and in Education for Belhaven University, Memphis campus.
Dr. Curt Fields, Jr., has been an avid and lifelong student of the American Civil War.  His interest in portraying General Ulysses S. Grant was driven by that study and his deep respect and admiration for General Grant. He is now an Educational consultant and Living Historian. As a consultant, he has worked in Leadership Development with International Paper, Thomas and Betts, Caterpillar, and the North Mississippi Mayor’s Association, speaking on Leadership as espoused and practiced by General Grant.
