Today we are unfolding A historic event known as “Freedom’s Eve”. Enslaved and free African Americans gathered in churches and homes across the United States, holding their breath for the dawn of a new era. At midnight, the Emancipation Proclamation came into effect, declaring all enslaved people in Confederate states legally free. This moment marked a monumental shift in the fight for freedom and justice. Despite the proclamation, not all enslaved people were immediately freed.
